Research by Sky News and Tortoise Media finds that the average MP has received £72,046 outside of their Westminster job since the last general election.

Click on a constituency to see how much the MP has received in donations, gifts, and earnings from other employment during the current parliament. The figures shown for each MP cover the period from 19 December 2019 to the end of June 2023.

This income is in addition to an MP’s salary, and does not include expenses and allowances that can be claimed for running a constituency office, travel and maintaining a second home in their constituency.

The data was compiled using records from the Register of Members’ Financial Interests, and the methodology is here.

An MP’s basic salary is £86,584 as of 1 April 2023. Details of previous years’ MP salaries are given by IPSA.
