01–31 JUL Greater Manchester Fringe Festival – various venues across Greater Manchester: The Greater Manchester Fringe is a vibrant arts festival that unfolds across Greater Manchester borough throughout July annually, with a mission to champion and support groups in bringing their performances to the forefront.

01 JUL Kneecap Film Showing, Carlton Club, Manchester: Greater Manchester Stop the War Coalition are showing this film in solidarity with Kneecap, one of whom has been charged with terrorism offences because of their support for Palestine. The event will also raise funds for coaches from Greater Manchester to national Palestine demos.

02 JUL Music for MAP, Carlton Club, Manchester: Choirs Manchester and Manchester Women Songwriters are joining forces to bring you a night of live music, with funds raised going to Medical Aid for Palestinians.

09 JUL Screening: To a Land Unknown, Manchester Museum: The Muslim Social Justice Initiative is bringing this Cannes-selected portrait of Palestinian exile to Manchester for a special one-night screening. All proceeds will go to The Sameer Project, a Palestinian-led mutual aid project supporting displaced families in Gaza.

10 JUL Ruhaniyat (روحانیت) – An Orchestral Sufi Experience, Aviva Studios, Manchester: A world premiere from co-founder of the Orchestral Qawwali Project, Rushil Ranjan, with Manchester Camerata and Sufi vocalist Jyoti Nooran.

19 JUL Surround Sounds, Aviva Studios, Manchester: This late-night takeover celebrates 20 years of Salford festival Sounds From the Other City, featuring live sets from Manchester band WU LYF and London rapper, singer and producer Lex Amor, as well as DJs Afrodeutsche, JD Twitch and more.

01 JUL Webinar: “Telling a Joined‑Up Story about Homes & Poverty”, Online: Join FrameWorks UK, in partnership with JRF and the Nationwide Foundation, for a webinar drawing together insights and recommendations from framing research on talking about poverty and talking about homes.

02 JUL Talk: Leah Munokoh on Environmental Injustice along EACOP, Online: Ugandan activist and researcher Leah Munokoh will talk about the environmental and social impact of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP). Also joining will be Stuart Spray, who last year travelled to East Africa to meet people affected by the pipeline, and will share testimonies of local people he recorded on his journey.

03 JUL Curator tour: The Secret Public LGBTQ Pop 1955-1985, University of Manchester: Curator tour of The Secret Public: LGBTQ Pop 1955-1985, an exhibition exploring the profound influence of LGBTQ performers, artists and activists on mainstream popular culture.

03 JUL Blood beats: Zine Launch and Creative Jam, The Yard, Manchester: Celebrate with Blood Beats as they share their LGBTQ+ zine First Press. You will also have the opportunity to get creative yourself and make your very own mini zine and badge, and join in a Creative Jam session.

08 JUL Environmental Justice in Partnership workshop, Friends’ Meeting House, Manchester: Join Friends of the Earth to explore the shared drivers of social and environmental harm – and build local links across sectors to tackle them.

ON NOW UNTIL 25 JUL “The Collectors, the Cameraman, the Poets & the Pits”, Working Class Movement Library, Salford: Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the 1984/5 Miners’ Strike, this exhibition explores the event using contemporary artefacts, photographs and poetry from the Library’s collections.

01 JUL Hulme Neighbourhood Assembly Launch, The Yard Theatre, Manchester: Join Co-Operation Manchester, who are on a mission to replace broken party politics and business-as-usual with public assemblies and solidarity economies across the north of England and beyond, for this launch event – including pay-as-you-feel food and children’s activities.

04-05 JUL Co‑op Congress, Rochdale Town Hall: Co-op Congress is an annual event where the co‑operative movement comes together to inspire, connect and drive change. Co-op Congress 2025 celebrates the United Nations International Year of Co-operatives with speakers including Grace Blakeley and Steve Coogan.

05 JUL GM Disability Pride March, Central Manchester: Manchester Disabled People Against Cuts are holding the first GM Disability Pride March in Central Manchester. The route, to be announced soon, will end in a rally and speeches in St Peter’s Square.

05 JUL Run For Gaza, Kingsway Park High School, Rochdale: Join Rochdale-based Mums4Peace for a family fun day including sports, fancy dress, food and a bouncy castle, in support of Children Not Numbers.

05 JUL GM Coalition of Disabled People’s 40th Birthday, Friends’ Meeting House, Manchester: This 40th anniversary event will include a talk from Rachel Charlton Dailey on her book ‘Ramping up Rights’, a Disabled Question Time session, and songs from Dennis Queen.

05–13 JUL LIBERATION, Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester: A play inspired by true events in Black British history, LIBERATION centres on the 1945 Fifth Pan-African Congress at Chorlton-on-Medlock Town Hall.

10 JUL Stockport Councillors to support Greater Manchester Pension Fund divestment from Israel & fossil fuels, Stockport Town Hall: Join GM Friends of Palestine to call on Stockport Councillors to support Greater Manchester Pension Fund divestment from Israel & fossil fuels.

11 JUL GM Pension Fund: Divest from Genocide, Guardsman Tony Downes House, Manchester: Join GM Friends of Palestine for a crucial protest outside the Greater Manchester Pension Fund GMPF offices.

24 JUL Sustainable Futures Urban Nature Walk, Alexandra Park, Manchester: Join Manchester University for a stroll through Alexandra Park on this guided nature walk. Discover local wildlife, enjoy the fresh air, and take part in Wildlife Bingo to explore and engage with nature.

22 JUL Kids of Colour Solidarity Day, Projekts Skate Park, Manchester: Kids of Colour are hosting their second Solidarity Day for young people aged 14-25 of all backgrounds from across Greater Manchester. This year’s event is an offer of solidarity and care for young people – a day of rest, care, fun and joy.

26 JUL Troublemakers at Work, Central Hall, Manchester: This conference brings together workers to share experiences and learn from each other. If you are organising at work or struggling to overcome the barriers to doing so, this conference is for you.
