Summer may be winding down but festival season isn’t over just yet - with the final installment of Green Island Festival taking place in Hulme next weekend, a whole programme of events to celebrate Manchester's Japan week, and a load of Heritage Open Days taking place across Greater Manchester, this month’s events calendar has something for everyone.

September also brings plenty of opportunities for discovery, connection and action in otherwise dark times. Greater Manchester’s Summit of Resistance comes to Manchester next Sunday to build the fight against right-wing politics, while later in the month, local communities are responding to the concerning rise in racist activity and rhetoric with creative solidarity, to transform the England flag into a symbol of inclusion.

And remember – to submit an event to our future listings, email editor@themeteor.org with a subject line “Events Newsletter Listing”.

Starting this month we’ll also be updating our events listing on our website on a rolling basis, so make sure to check back here regularly so you don’t miss anything.
