On Friday 13 June we will be hosting an open newsroom at Feel Good Club for you to learn about our work, bring your ideas and get involved in what we do.

This week, 9 – 15 June, is the second ever Indie News Week supported by the Public Interest News Foundation (PINF), and we’re taking part again! Come and see us between 10am and 6pm for a chat about local news.

A key element of the week is for local independent publishers to run events promoting the role of the independent media in a news environment dominated by billionaire funders and Big Tech.

Crowdfunder: Support The Meteor’s independent local journalism

We are also launching a crowdfunder to financially support our work – most of what we do is unpaid, and we’d like to change that. We’re hoping to raise £1000 to put into community events that will attract new members to our co-op, which translates into more readers and more member subscriptions.

We’re keen to hear what you, our audience, want to see from our reporting and other output. Maybe you have an idea, story or suggestion for us. Find us on Friday in Feel Good Club; look out for the Meteor banner!
